Students from different parts of the State came to study in the institution. The State of Manipur is resided by people belonging to different communities such as Meiteis, Muslims and different groups of tribal communities. The institute also receives students from all these communities. However, as the institution is located in a minority Muslim dominated area, majority of the students are from Manipuri Muslim community known locally as Meitei-Pangals. There are no students from outside the state or abroad in the institution till date.The diversity of Students for the last five years academic years is shown in the table below:
